Round 2, Regional Interclub 5th May 2012 |
Sun 5th May saw the running of Round 2 of the Regional Interclub series at Junior Trails Mini Bike Club at Gwandalan on the central coast.
Hornsby Junior Dirt Bike Club was the official organiser and club to run the event and what a great turnout we had. The total number of riders entered was 167, the largest amount of riders for a regional event for several years.
We had some great results from members as well as overall encouraging results for the sport. With more than 30 50cc demo class riders and over 30 first timers to a regional event, resurgence in mini bike competition is happening and shaping up to be a great year with the state titles to be held in the second half of the year once again run by our club.
On the day at Gwandalan we saw Blaine Cuneo in top spot on the podium winning the premier class of Junior Bigwheel A grade, Amber Heaford 2nd in the Junior Bigwheel B grade, Matthew Pye came 2nd in the 65cc B Grade and Matthew Parker-Doney winning the Miniwheel B grade class.
A big well done to all those riders, officials and committee members involved in running such a great and successful day. There are a large amount of photos on the website from the day so jump in and have a look for yourself!
We look forward to seeing you all at Round 3 of the Club Points series 1 on Sunday 20th May. |

HJDBC is a Minikhana club. Minikhana is about teaching junior riders good riding skills and techniques where skill rather than speed is predominantly the determining factor. Riders learn a variety of cone and ring events, including minicross and other events. The club participates in friendly ride days with other Minikhana clubs and riders of all skill levels can also choose to compete in interclub competitions against other Minikhana clubs.
